Log house construction with prefabricated components
Accurately sawn wooden beams are typically pre-machined in the factory of the prefabricated house manufacturer and then transported to the construction site, superimposed on each other, and fixed at the corner points with the aid of various composite techniques. Furthermore, the wooden beams are joined at regular intervals by means of wooden dowels to ensure additional stability. A common method to join the log cabin walls with a saddle notch joint. In this method, the walls of the log cabin are fixed with notches and wedges in the individual beams.
The logs are planed on four sides and provided with a groove and a high, trapezoidal spring. The block screed milling is a patented offset rectangular surround milling connecting eightfold- contact surfaces (the Swiss chalet system). This system is manufactured on precision machines with numerical control (CNC), which guarantees a perfect seal to water and wind. The beams are made of solid wood in the following dimensions: 45 mm, 70 mm, 92 mm, 120 mm and 180 mm. Solid wood construction with more than 180 mm need not be insulated with additional material.
